7.0 simply supported slab types

Simply supported slabs are the most straight forward to design, and where spans are short, provide the thinnest solution and minimum reinforcement to a design. Simply supported slabs also provide 30 minute FRR without the inclusion of FER reinforcement.
Solutions are available for thicknesses between 110mm and 200mm. For the use of simply supported slabs, the use of jointing over supports is imperative to reduce the risk of cracking. When spans become larger, FRR requirements are greater than 30 minutes, or the design calls for a minimum use of jointing, continuous slabs should be used.
